Creating an AI generated trailer

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

Hi

I can really tell I'm on leave , having time available to play its just a bless!

I wanted to make a film trailer using AI, been seeing a few online and they are quite amazing and advanced .

I've done a Space Channel 5 fan project before and seen there's a film about it on the works

accordingly to IMDB

https://m.imdb.com/news/ni63730600/

It states that its a Sega films dept. ( that did the Sonic ones) and Picture Start film.

There's also an article about on Collider

So It took the only information available on the website about the plot

"Space Channel 5 was a music video game where people can play as a reporter who battles villains with dance in a futuristic world that mirrors the 60s. The film adaptation is said to follow an unhappy fast-food worker who gets recruited by a reporter sent from the future to stop aliens from ending the world. The only way to stop the aliens will be through modern viral dances. It is not clear whether this film will be live-action or animated."

Took that to Chat GPT

and ask it to generate a trailer script

Chat GPT has a free version

I got a full script that I've used to do the rest of the work.

[Scene opens in a bustling, neon-lit futuristic city. The camera pans to a gloomy fast-food worker, JASON, who slouches over a counter, flipping burgers.]

JASON (voiceover): Life's a dead-end loop, just like this job.

[Cut to a shadowy figure, LARA, in a sleek, silver outfit, appearing out of thin air behind Jason.]

LARA: You, Jason. You're the key to saving the world.

[JASON startles, dropping a spatula. He looks at LARA with a mix of disbelief and curi osity.]

JASON: Who the heck are you?

LARA: I'm not from this time. I'm here to recruit you.

[JASON's eyes widen as LARA's words sink in.]

JASON: (nervous laugh) Me? Save the world? I can barely get my life together!

[LARA's expression turns serious as ominous music builds.]

LARA: You underestimate the power within you. The fate of humanity rests on your shoulders.

[Quick cuts of chaotic scenes: aliens causing mayhem, cities in turmoil, people panicking.]

JASON (voice cracking): Why me? There's gotta be someone better suited for this hero stuff.

[LARA places a hand on JASON's shoulder, looking directly into his eyes.]

LARA: You possess a unique connection to rhythm and dance. It's our only weapon against the impending alien threat.

[The music intensifies as JASON clenches his fists, determination in his eyes.]

JASON: So you want me to dance our way out of annihilation?

LARA: (nodding) The aliens feed on chaos, and only your beats can disrupt their control.

[Cut to a training montage: JASON awkwardly attempting dance moves, stumbling but improving.]

JASON (voiceover, determined): If dancing is what it takes, then I'm in.

[The trailer builds to a climactic moment, showing JASON leading a group of diverse rebels, all dancing in unison against a backdrop of swirling lights.]

LARA (voiceover): Together, we can rewrite destiny.

[Cut to a final shot of JASON, fully embracing his role as a hero, dancing fearlessly amid a pulsating energy.]

NARRATOR (voiceover): Get ready to dance for the fate of the world.

[The screen fades to black, leaving only the film's title and release date.]

Title Card: "Space Channel 5: Rhythms of Destiny"

Release Date: Coming Soon

[The trailer ends, leaving viewers intrigued and excited for the epic adventure to come.]

From that I've choose the lines I would like to have as dialogue or narration in the trailer

As a bonus it gave me a title, Space Channel 5: Rhythms of Destiny that I felt was quite silly and appropriate

And when to this website that does speech Synthesis

also has a free version

https://elevenlabs.io/

Collect all the dialog

and went to get a soundtrack , choose this artist

https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/odkZaezNTo/

With that done, it was time to start doing some pictures

1st collect all the logos and then start creating the themes of the trailer

I've worked previously doing CG work for SC5 and use that to guide the style , but AI is very random still

This time to generate the static images I've used

that also as a free version

Snapshot of the images generated

Then with all images created I've run then through

And used their image to video tool

didn't really adjust any settings or did any prompts , just process the image as it was, since I didn't want to diverse too much from them

Well then it was a standard workflow of editing a trailer

used Resolve ( guess what? because its free as well )

Here's snapshot of the full timeline

Hope this help other to try it out

Link to my previous SC5 work

Thank you for passing by!
